I visited Italy from 23 to 26 March renting a car through an Internet broker (holiday autos) by an Italian company called Ecovia. I landed at Palermo airport on 23/03 morning and returned from Catania airport on 26/03 early in the morning. The total cost of booking the car amounted to 77.31, and at the time of my reservation the amount of 16.31 euros was withheld from my credit card as upfront payment. When I arrived in Palermo at Autovia's office, I paid EUR 500 for damage insurance, which is withheld by the company and is released with the return of the car plus the remaining EUR 61 of the booking fee, ie a total of EUR 561. Today and after I have returned to my county I am surprised to see that this car rental company has again charged me a duplicate of 61 euros and has also deducted me the 561 euros from my card. In addition to this, it claims that because of a tiny scratch in the wheel, a damage of around 190 euros was made, which of course is non-existent, since I have evidence and a photo to prove it. No-one from Ecovia was there to inspect the car at the time of return and one day and a half has passed so they might have made the damage themselves which is of course fraudulent. The company has charged a total of 561 + 61 without a legal basis. It refuses to return me the money. The only legal charge is 61 euro for the rest of the booking fee I had to pay to the company. Please inspect the case. I have sufficient proof of all the above facts.
