On Sunday 23rd August I purchased 'Adattatore universale da viaggio' from Welcome S.A.S. Di Dewan Abul (Via Principe Amedeo, 16600185 Roma RM).
I went to Hotel Virgilio where I was staying and upon using this item it exploded and the power went off in the room. The hotel then changed me to another bedroom as the item had left a mark on their socket and it was a danger.
On the evening of Thursday 27th August I returned to the shop to inform them of the issue and to get a refund, I had a train soon after and it is close to the station. I was there for 15 minutes and the man was getting very angry saying there wasn't an issue with the product, when there are clearly burn marks on it. He refused to give me a refund and offered me a new product instead. I said no as the shop's products are clearly unsafe. He attempted to take back the adapter but I refused as I told him that I was going to inform the authorities.
Upon leaving the shop I took photos as evidence of the shop's name and to show that I was there. The man who I dealt with then chased me down the street and tried to punch me several times. Another man who seemed to own the shop stopped him but tried making me delete the photos off my phone.
I tried going to the police at Roma Termini but they said as I had left the scene there was nothing they could do. I am writing to you to make you aware that the people at this shop try assaulting customers and are selling very dangerous products. I have photographs of the product and the man who attempted to assault me if you would like me to send them to you.
