This comaplint concerns a Vesuvius tour we booked with Tempio Travel. I beleive what they're doing is abuse/fraud. At the time we visited Pompeii (end-September), they were the only operator at the train station Pompei Scavi Villa Dei Misteri. Not sure if they're still there now. In the train station (public space), there was a (public) note saying that we can to buy tickets for Vesuvius only online, and only from Vivaticket (private operator). But tickets were sold out, for 2 days. A guy conveniently told us that the remaining option (if we don't want to hike) is to book with a tour operator - that was conveniently placed at the entrance of the station. We tried the platform and couldn't manage to book tickets for an available day. So we went with the tour operator - Tempio Travel - which, by the way, didn't have a label or banner at their desk. Anyway, when you're a tourist, some things get lost in translation. Funny thing - all tickets were booked online, but Tempio Travel had available slots almost anytime! OK...We were on 21.09. We booked a tour for 22.09. Got a receipt for 22.09. The next day we also received the tickets - nominal tickets. Only later, we noticed that the ticket was dated/purchased on 19.09. So either they block tens of tickets on Vivaticket, either they really have an understanding with them, either they are forging the names on the tickets in a PDF editor. Any explanation is to their advantage.
